DISPOSITION

Action: Approved (see below). Action dates: March 26 and April 9, 1997

Effective date of authority granted: Through March 26, 1998 (see below).

Basis for approval: United States-Mexico Air Transport Services Agreement of August 15, 1960, as amended and extended (Agreement).

Except to the extent exempted/waived, this authority is subject to the terms, conditions, and limitations indicated:

     ___   Standard exemption conditions
XX    Foreign air carrier permit conditions

Special conditions/Partial grant/Denial basis/Remarks: On March 26, 1997, we granted, effective immediately, Aeromexico's request to conduct its proposed operations between Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo and Dallas/Ft. Worth, through March 26, 1998, and deferred on the applicant's request to conduct scheduled services between Mexico City and Boston/Detroit/Philadelphia. We deferred action on that portion of the application, pending evidence of the carrier's designation to conduct those Mexico City-U.S. services under the U.S.-Mexico Agreement. On April 8, 1997, Aeromexico submitted such evidence to the Department and, on April 9, 1997, we granted the applicant's request to conduct those operations, through March 26, 1998.

Action taken by Paul L. Gretch, Director, Office of International Aviation, under assigned authority (14 CFR 385). (Petitions for review may be filed from now until 10 days after the service date of the confirming order/letter. Filing of a petition shall not stay the effectiveness of this action.)
